    Dell Fan settings?

Are these settings fine or my Dell laptop, burnt a few Nvidia 256 MB GeForce 7600 GS, now got a 7950T GTX 512 MB installed since 256 were out of stock.

    Thanks.

Both your CPU and GPU fan speeds are shown incorrectly, leading me to believe that they are both running too slow, or that there is an error with the software being used. If your CPU fan was really running at 72000+ RPM you couldn't hear yourself think in the room that it was in, much less be able to hold it together in one piece. Same with the GPU fan. When my fans run really slow I get weird values on the fan speed.

Thanks for replying and giving your expert advice.

In which screen shot does that show?

    Are they slow?

    Any suggestions?

I was referring to screenshot #1. Both the CPU and GPU fan RPMs show absurdly high values. This can result from the fans running too slow, an error in the software that is reading them, or a malfunctioning sensor. I would tend to suspect the first two.

Are you running any other temperature/fan monitoring software at the same time as the Dell program? If so, don't. Only use one at a time. You can get false readings otherwise. If the RPM of your fans is being reported as very high, the system cooling policy won't let the fans kick in fast enough and properly cool the PC.

Since this is a laptop, there's no option to add any extra fans to keep things cool. Is there a setting on the Dell software that allows an aggressive cooling policy? I'm not familiar with the software, but most have settings like "Quiet", "Normal" and "Aggressive", or something similar.

    Thanks for replying.

When I got the new card i.e 7950T GTX 512 MB installed, installed the same app.

I have a fan cooler tray beneath the lap connected via USB, after burning 2, 256 MB cards.

    Nvidia cards run hot.

Do you recommend to download the software app and reinstall it, since am using old downloaded one, may be it has a newer version?

How do I check if the sensor is faulty?

Are rest of the settings correct or those need to changed too?
    Best Regards!

" Both the CPU and GPU fan RPMs show absurdly high values. This can result from the fans running too slow,"

Hypothetically if the values are high and you feel that fans are running slow, changed the option from slow to fast for both CPU and GPU btw 30-35 C that increased the fan noise started to run fast.....but the values increased??

    Thanks again.
