I am thinking of a log file was making the red line. it should be in a form of log.xml
you can download this tool: TreeSize Free - Quickly Scan Directory Sizes and Find Space Hogs
it can help you search the file that is causing this.

Check your Restore Points Settings.

Control Panel>System>System Protection and highlight C drive. Configure.

Lower it, (click OK) and reboot and you should see an increase in hdd space.

I've got mine set to the lowest ( I keep backup images so I'm not concerned with multiple Restore Points).

I do not do backups
I was able to recover about 40GB by deleting some accounts and their folders, but the folders returned after reboot.
But that is still too much space used for the OS and the default Admin user.

Cloning VS. Imaging - Full Backup my Windows Hard Drive
Good day to all! I am confused on what do I have to do: "clone" my Windows hard drive or make an "image" of it that will serve as back-up. I want to back-up my Windows hard drive so that when this hard drive fails (e.g. mechanical problem like I encountered last month), I can restore my OS...

Windows doesn't recognize full capacity of hard drive
I recently bought a new computer with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium. The HDD inside is supposed to be 1TB but Windows only shows 55gb available, of which over half is already in use. I checked from BIOS and it recognizes the drive as 1000gb. I've searched all kinds of forums and DIY -tips...

Windows 7 Install from XP - Hard Drive Still Full
Completed an install from XP to 7 by copying the install disk to my lap top hard drive, then running "setup". Thought that this would delete the all of the old files. And, indeed, when I search for known file names, the search comes up empty. However, the properties of the disk show the same...

Full hard drive. where's it all at?
I just installed 7 today. I kind of figured it would be like reformatting xp where it just wipes the hard drive clean and you start from scratch. All of my folders are empty but my HD only has 20G of free space i don't know whats taking it all up? I was counting on having an almost empty HD...

How full can my hard drive get...
Okay, I am about to set up my new HP computer which has Vista Premium 64 bit and a 750 gig hard drive. With all the mp3's, lossless audio and avi's I have on various external hard drives, 750 gigs isn't really "that big" anymore! So: How full can I make my 750gig hard drive,...
