Logitech Wireless mouse unusable during Fresh install of Windows 7

Hi, I had my PC's CPU put together by a service technician, and I saw some issues with it, like random CPU fan warnings or the wireless mouse/keyboard simply not working at times. I have noticed that from the very beginning, and decided to fix all minor issues with a full & fresh install.
But when I get to the first interactive screen in Windows 7 install (This is after booting up from the DVD), the wireless mouse does not respond. The wireless keyboard doesn't work either. I tried plugging in a wired mouse, but that didn't work either. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Please note: Not sure if this is relevant, but recently, one of the USB 2.0 posts stopped working.
    Help!
Edit: Now, just one of the External hard disks works. All other Disks & my game controller have stopped working off USB ports.

Hello and welcome Dennis mate sometimes (if you have access to them) a PS2 mouse / keyboard will work where newer stuff will not see pics for what I mean by PS2 stuff it is the really old connections that some boards still have these days do have.

By the way I suppose you have dome all the updating for the USB ports?

Hey man. Thanks for taking the time to explain. I'll try this out & let you know how it goes, ok?
And yes, I have updated all drivers for my USB ports.

Hi, I tried the option you gave, but that didn't work either. With no other ideas, I just tried plugging the USB mouse & keyboard into my USB ports (while the Windows Install was ready to start), and they got detected this time around. No idea how it got fixed, or even if it had anything to do with the PS2 adapter, but I'm not typing this from a Fresh Windows PC. Thanks for your help.

    Marking this thread as solved.

That's good Dennis just have to put it down to one of those things that happen from time to time. But at least there is a way that you can use in the future if need be.

I often wonder why they still include those PS2 sockets and the nly reason tha seems half paluasible is for the techies to use when they get the machines (or boads) back for seeing to them.

I know on some older machines I have worked on the PS2 has restored other functions as in your machine it would seem.
