    Hdhomerun tuner not being recognized

I haven't had any problems until today.

The tuner is not recognized, but the green lights are lit.

I unplugged and replugged and did a reboot - no help.

I tried to reinstall, but it can't find the tuner.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Paul

I assume this is hooked up to your PC?

Can you see the device in your PC's network?

Sure, it's connrcted to my modem/router as usual.

The green lights are lit, but device not recognized.

I went into services in devmgr, but don't see it.

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

Nothing has changed since yesterday, when it was fine.

I also opened a ticket with support.

With the device on it should show up in Windows Explorer > Network. And possibly in Devices and Printers.

If you go on the SilicoDust website > Troubleshooting ( Troubleshooting - Welcome to SiliconDust ) you will see almost all problems listed for not being recognized are network connectivity problems.

    Troubleshooting - Welcome to SiliconDust
Scroll down to "No Tuners Found"

See if you can find the device on your home network or if you can ping it"s IP address from your PC.

I went to troubleshooting and it said to make sure the SSDP service is enabled, but it is not listed in Services.

The page said the unit might have failed.

    I also uninstalled and reinstalled.

    Ouch! That is not good.

Can you test the tuner on another PC or a Smart TV?

Just checked warranty - mine expired in 2013.

I guess I'll have to replace it.

Any suggestions for a better unit?
