My local disk is showing the "unknown" icon

My computer has been showing the unknown icon and I can't change it. This started after I upgraded from xp to 7.

You might see if an option in the tutorial below may work to change the icon back.

In that case, let's see if downloading and merging the .reg file for the listed drive option in the tutorial below, and restart the computer may. It will restore the default associations and registry entries for it.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

If that still doesn't help, then please post a screenshot showing this to see if it may be something else.

Hmm, ok. Let's see if rebuilding the icon cache may help if it may be corrupted.
