    DVD Is No Show

My DVD no longer shows up anwhere: My computer, Device Mgr, nor BIOS.

First it would show up & then disappear; leaving an event in the system log. Then @ runtime, it would not show up leaving an event in the system log stating cd driver had failed to load.

Now it is nowhere, but is powered.

    Welcome to Windows 7 forum,
imajica, from your spec it appears that this is a custom build? If so what brand of dvd is installed and how is it connected?

Its a custom build; the DVD is: LG - 22x Internal Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive, it's on SATA 1.

When the system is shutdown I can unplug & replug the drive, & it will show up for a couple of days before pulling the old houdini again.

Does the dissapearing act after an update?

No, far as I can tell it's random.
