Here is a picture of my setup while I wait for an answer from EVGA.
It's on a test bench that is on a chair. I wanted to put everything together to be sure it all works and I didn't have any DOA parts.

it's good that you did not put in case yet most people do not bench test it before putting in case. it's always a good thing to bench test first then when thing are good then put in case

I got an answer from EVGA. They said:

You are not missing a driver, it is a feature that is embedded into the ACHI drivers.

There would be a proper way by making changes in the registry but that does come with risks but the notification icon can be adjusted to hide when not needed. The only other way around this is to set the controller to IDE and re-install Windows but the benefits of AHCI would be lost.

If you do not recall installing the chipset drivers, make sure that is done as well (RAID management would not be needed).

Unbelievable.
That is absolutely the worst advice I've seen in a while.
Telling someone running an SSD to change to IDE is proof positive that person has no clue.
Just hide it! End of problem.

A motherboard is just about the only thing I WOULD NOT GET from EVGA. (Beside the obvious)

Send it back, get an Asus or an MSI board (Yes I said MSI)

I'm trying to hide it. That's the issue I'm having, the option is no longer there like it used to be on my X58 build. I'm going to look at my laptop (also has an SSD) and see if the option is there.

I just installed my HDD's and all of them show in the "safely remove" list. They are 2TB Western Digital Black drives.

Not sending this board back. I've bought EVGA products for a little while now and I've never had an issue apart from little stuff like this.

Remove "Safely Remove Hardware" Icon
Does anyone know how to remove the "safely remove hardware" icon in the taskbar? I do not mean hide it. I have my icons always show in the notification area because I don't like the arrow icon either. Any ideas? Thanks.
