Windows 7: Windows 7 failure with HTC hero

Windows 7 failure with HTC hero

I have difficulty with the connectivity of the HTC Hero with Windows 7. I suspect it's the OS rather than the phone, because some simple programs, that worked fine with Win7 Beta, had compatibility issues. I installed a few programs twice, because they didn't install smoothly.

I also had the blue screen of death earlier. What's going on?
