What temps does your BIOS show? Speccy, HWmonitor and most software of this type typically show bad readings.

Actually Speccy is reading perfect, for me anyway.

But yes, check the cpu temp in the bios to see if it matches what Speccy says.

I think 28c is a standard speccy read for mb. Look here

Perhaps a bit too obvious but there is no mention of the venting of the case or the general state of the interior or fan inlets or how many there?
Maybe the machine needs a good cleaning?

Ok Daniel then my advice is much the same as the others and personally I would go the Arctic Silver clean and compound application plus why not treat yourself to a liquid cooling system they are not expensive these days and you really don't need anything fancy and even the basic ones are in my mind better than the good air coolers which can be very large and cumbersome.

In any case anything is better than a stock cooler of any brand. This is not a bad itle one to have and fits all CPU's Thermaltake Water 3.0 Performer (CLW0222) Water/Liquid CPU Cooler 120MM - Newegg.com
