Cannot print a pdf file in any program

I have Nitro PDF v9. Tried to uninstall, reinstall may times and the same
thing happens. Nothing happens when I click on Printer Properties on
the Print dialog. Clicking OK to print shows an Unable to Print box.

In devices, Printing preferences blinks Operation could not be completed.
Printer properties says driver not installed, but it is installed.

It says I need to share it with homegroup. Letting it try and fix it causes:
(I'm almost ready to format C and lose months of tweaks, etc.)

You can either try another pdf reader or convert the pdf file to something else - e.g. .docx

Thanks, I tried 2 other pdf printer apps and they failed to install properly.
It's like something was blocking it from installing.

Do you know how I can get the Printing preferences to show something?

Can you post a screen print of what you see in Control Panel > Devices and Printers ?
Also post a screen print from Computer Management/Device Manager with Print queues expanded.
I'm on 8.1 right now, but i expect 7 is similar.

The last one is if I right click and select Printing Preferences.

In Device Manager what is listed under Other devices and are there any errors ?

Look at Services and make sure the Print Spooler service is started.

Run a System File Check to see if you have any errors:
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

The Print Spooler service is Started.

I ran the System File Check, no errors mentioned.

Thanks for your help. I will format C and start over when I get
the courage, 3 months of tweaks and apps installed to start over.

( This is a new sys I got 3 months ago, and if it had been at all
possible I would have installed xp sp3 on it - I truly hate win7)

After trying Junctionbox, all seem well until I tried to install an app, and then got a
you don't have access errors still, so it didn't work after all.

Was going to format and reinstall, but called the local company that sold me
this system, telling them what happened. The tech guy says try Tweaking.com
for a free fix it app and see if that fixes it. I ran it and it was finally fixed.
Can now print pdf's from any program.
