I've read the guides where you have to go through the trouble of unhiding it. I still want to be able to access it by hotkey. Is this possible?

I don't know how you can hide a drive but...
You can mount that drive to a folder and it won't show in explorer. You can then hide the folder if you like. No idea if you can hide a drive from disk management though.

What I have done is disable my 2nd HD via Device Manager; but I have to re-enable it from there too. 5-6 mouses clicks to disable, 5-6 mouse clicks to re-enable; I don't know any faster way to hide a HD, then unhide it.

I did it this way. Had to go through the trouble of linking folders, but it seems to work as I wanted.
