How did you clone the SSD in the first place? dock?

Feel free to abuse me. This is why I work on Corvettes and not computers. Lessons learned: remove connectors and verify pin layout and disconnect external hdd (I use this to daily backup the documents folder) before rebooting pc with new ssd installed. Did this and it now boots up and works.

I used the clone feature in Acronis that is installed on the pc.

One last thing, do I need to mount the ssd or can I velcro it to the palce where the hdd was?

It won't really matter if the PC is stationary but I always fasten it somehow. Even 2 screws on 1 side would be enough.
