thanks for all the quick replies.

first off i ran it in safe mode and still no joy. i then tried ejecting it using the button on the actual drive, other then the one on the tower and it worked. so the problem is that the button on the tower is the problem. it work before the installation of windows 7 so im 100% sure its not a fault with the button.

I too just now installed windows 7 and I know my button to eject dvd's worked. Now it does not an only by going to the explorer window and selecting the drive -right clicking and selecting eject will the drive work. Any ideas on fixing it would be entertained. I don't like this work around.

Isn't this related to the EULA? One installation per machine? Once the OS is installed, Windows eats up the disk and slowly digests it to prevent privacy.

The Answer

I had the same problem, I think it is a problem with Packard Bell drivers for the case.
You can download some sofware (see link) so that you are able to eject from the desktop. Or you can try the Packard Bell updater software on their site.
Application - CD/DVD eject button control - 7602700000 - Downloads&
This works for me I hope it woks for you.
P.S You have a Mozart chassis.

Hi bullitt659

I downloaded that link u provided but it still does not work, i have to eject via my computer everytime i want to open/close the drive.

P.S im now having problem with my USB.
Everytime i connect my ipod or blackberry to the pc and try to upload data onto my devices it would stop copying and then devices would disappear from my computer. If i try to reconnect the USB i would get an error message "Device not recognized".

All software/drivers for the devices are installed,
if anyone is experiencing similiar problems please advise on how you solved the problem.

Thanks

Hi not sure if you have sorted this or not but I will try to help if I can.
Let me get this straight you downloaded the program I told you about & installed it but it does not work?
Do you have graphical eject buttons on your desk top screen?
If so use these instead of trying to push your eject buttons on your case as they no longer work.
This system works well you just have to train yourself to use them.
As for your USB problems I would do the following.
1. Remove all other USB devices
2. Plug the offending devices (1 at a time) directly in to the USB ports on the back of your case & see if they now work with out any trouble.
3. If they work this way you probably have a USB conflict with another device & the only way to sort this out is by using Device manager.
3.1. Start reconnecting your other devices & monitor for any problems.
4. Check all your drivers are up to date by (I found using Driver Detective useful you get a free scan but would need to purchase if you want to download the drivers using this application)
5. Update any out of date drivers.

See how you get on I will try to get back to you sooner if you still need help.

:D
