How to extend Drive C partition by deleting Drive D

Apologies if this has been asked and answered many times before, but i have not been able to successfully hunt out a solution to my query.

I am looking to extend my C drive partition (about 60GB in size) by deleting the D drive, and then extending C to just be one larger drive. Below is a screen shot my my disk management:

When I right click on the D drive, "delete volume" is grayed out. I have not been able to find out why, or how to enable it to be deleted.

I have already backed up and deleted the majority of the data from the D drive in anticipation of deleting it, but there were two program files that I have been unable to delete, even with administrator access.

Basically I just want the end result to be a larger C drive, as there are a few programs I have been unable to change default settings on that keep saving data there (iTunes for one) and think it would just be easier if the drive was just one large drive.

If anyone can help me I would be grateful.

    Thanks
    James

Remove pagefile from D and try again.

Computer - Properties - Advanced System Settings - Performance Settings - Advanced - Change

    Thank you!

Worked perfectly and now I have one large c drive. I wish I'd found this forum a few weeks ago, this has been driving me crazy.

    Thank you again!
