    Solved external EVO850 not showing/mounting - Thanks

Thank you, thank you, thank you - have wasted untold hours getting external USB drive ( EVO850 to mount --- and zip -- uninstalled Magician - rebooted - and problem gone !! You would think that Samsung would be aware of this issue - but apparently not.

AJL14, when Magician installs, it also installs a filter driver (read about them here Filter driver - Wikipedia).
So the filter is there (enabled in the registry) as long as you clone that source SSD. It is not the Magician software that's causing the issue but the filter driver it installs.

However, there is one other thing reported in that thread I linked. That is Rapid Mode may be causing the issue too. So disable it for the clone if you have it enabled and try again, if not uninstall Magician. You don't need it running all the time anyway.

Rapid Mode is the problem. I just tested it. Simply turn off Rapid Mode, reboot and then clone. No need to uninstall Magician.

    Thank You!!!

I too spent hours trying to figure this issue out. Cloned my 850 EVO to a new larger WD Black, and everything worked great except the USB drives would no longer work. After not finding a resolution online, I figured it was something I did to my system after cloning it, so I went back and cloned it again. Same issue, of course. Finally found this thread today and was able to get the USB drives working again by just running Samsung Magician on the cloned drive at which point it told me that the drive was not compatible with Rapid Mode and asked if I wanted to uninstall it. I selected yes, rebooted, and now USB drives are working.

    Thanks!!!

"USB storage not working in cloned windows os" = Bingo!

This was tricky one as the cloning software used was NOT by Samsung.

Who would think the old Samsung's Magician laying behind would have installed things that show up only after a clone!!!!

I finally decided to upgrade an old Win 7 Lenovo X201 to Win 10, but got stuck on some mysterious disk errors. Noticed any USB device driver could not start and reported error 10 in the device manager, but could not figure out what in the world transitioned the system into being impossible to repair.

Nothing in the world seemed to help. Endangering the entire system uninstalling drivers in an already working old system is not funny.

The entire idea to upgrade to Win 10 seemed to be impossible without drivers not even working in Win 7. Not a great start and would definitely bother the upgrade process trying to make sure everything is working.

After giving up on some failed attempts I decided to stay with Win7 and the new 1TB drive in the Lenovo X201, but with no USB storage that was still totally unacceptable.

    Two google searches led here:

"Macrium Reflect usb storage not working in cloned windows system"

    and finally

"USB storage not working in cloned windows os"

    Bingo!

    Thanks!!!
