unfortunately the problem persists... ive uninstalled the extra monitors many times only to have them re-appear next boot... some boots are fine, some end up with a black screen (no dvi signal message displayed) sometimes instead of generic pnp monitor it will say available port on gtx260 in the detect/identify window........ sometimes it "finds" 3 of the right monitor... (asus vk222u) is there no way to tell windows there is only one display and thats all there ever will be, so use that only

(btw the vga cable was connected only to see if the black screen issue was due to a phantom monitor being made the main display, just dvi cable connected now)
