Internal HDD periodically disconnects and reconnects
First time I've ever posted anywhere about PC Issues...
Started off as a problem where my hdd would disconnect every 3 months (so, pretty rarely) and i just fixed that by resetting. Felt like i should mention that, but fast forward 3 years and we get to where we are now, where my pc detects, undetects, connects, disconnects, freezes, you name it and its all to do with my secondary HDD. At first I would play games located on my secondary Samsung 2 TB Drive where I keep pretty much all my games, and all my games showed weird behavior, freezing randomly for 10 - 30 seconds. I figured out it was my hard drive doing this, so i moved some games to my C drive and kept playing them while I tried through trial and error to fix the secondary one. But now it doesnt even detect it anymore when I boot up, and then randomly detects it afterwards. It also added a 'system reserved' partition to it that i can see in my Computer folder. I can't access the hard drive anymore. Sometimes I can browse it for 20 seconds and then explorer freezes and i have to shut it down.
So to summarize:
- HDD is disconnected/reconnects periodically for split second
- Tried changing sata cable, tried putting sata cable in different slot on mobo.
- Primary disk (That windows is on) works fine.
Any suggestions?
