    Intel to launch low-cost 40GB SSD,new enterprise lineup


    Intel plans to release a $120 40GB SSD, which the company hopes will be adopted as a boot drive in servers, or potentially used in low-end laptops and netbooks. Intel is also working a new line of enterprise-class SSDs including models that are 50GB, 100GB, and 200GB in capacity.

    Here comes the flood of SSDs into the mainstream. I hear a lot of companies are going to start releasing sub-$100 SSD drives. (Indilinx controlled) It will be an interesting year for the greatest upgrade you can do to your machine. People are going to have to start putting some of that video card $$ towards an SSD now, getting a lesser video card that will meet their needs but having the SSD too.
