New dell min HTPC:
Dell Zino HD: $230 Mini Home Theater PC - dell zino hd - Gizmodo
Looks like a fantastic option for folks looking for a mini PC with Win 7. It ships by default with 64 bit home.
Prior to this, if you wanted a decent off-the-shelf inexpensive HTPC, you were looking at one of the new Ion-based nettops (like the one that I just bought from Acer

)...or a Dell Inspiron 537s (much larger, but far more configurable). This Zino seems to land in the middle in terms of size and configurability...and while looks are subjective, I think the Zino's packaging is very slick.
Low-end configurations are on par with Atom...with sub-par graphics...but you can tweak anything that you want if you start at the low-end model...and still stay at or under $400 (US). The same HTPC hit some Dell sites in Europe last week.
Would have been a tough decision if I hadn't just bought the Acer (which should show up tomorrow). One advantage of the Acer - $14 (US) shipping and handling from either Newegg or B&H...and no tax...as opposed to $40 (US) S&H from Dell and whatever tax is applicable in your state. That was $60 total for me. Not a fortune, but significant when you are pricing these low-end machines.
Love to hear from someone who eventually buys one of these. It may be my next purchase. I have lots of TVs...and I want Win 7 on all of them.
