Touchpad/Mouse Unresponsive After Launching DLNA-Related App

    Hello guys,

I have quite an odd problem. I noticed that every time I launch a DLNA-related application like LG Smartshare and Lenovo's SHAREIt, my touchpad and mouse mysteriously become unusable (disconnecting/reconnecting does nothing).

I manage to navigate through these applications and perform my intended tasks successfully via keyboard but to enable the touchpad and mouse again, I have to logoff/on and things go back to normal (which rules out the touchpad and mouse being defective).

It only happens when I launch these apps and the rest works as it should be. Any idea what may be causing this and possible resolution?

I have found the culprit and it turns out a running wisptis.exe is disabling the touchpad and mouse. The resolution is to end the process in the Task Manager.

I found a TechNet blogpost describing the issue here:
KB: Mouse may become unresponsive after you launch an App-V application

While I was not using App-V, some other application may have triggered wisptis.exe.

wisptis.exe is a pen input device tool for the Microsoft Tablet PC Platform. "WISPTIS" stands for "Windows Ink Services Platform Tablet Input Subsystem". wisptis.exe is installed on your system when installing Microsoft Office 2003, an Adobe product, or Journal Viewer via Windows Update.

Source: What is wisptis.exe? Is wisptis.exe spyware or a virus?
How to block wisptis.exe from running on Windows PCs
For my case, I have not figured out which application is triggering wisptis.exe in the background so terminating it in the Task Manager works for me.

    Hope someone finds this useful.
