    Hi,
Yep seems a normal boot to me on quad or 6 core intel cpu :/

Have you checked your power plan or saved desktop theme to see if it's changed ?
Most people would use a performance power plan and keep boot as normal
Go to control panel and power plan to see what it's set on switch to performance and see how it goes the system should adjust to needs automatically if not you might have an issue but I doubt it's with the boot options.

In the advanced boot options dialog the number shown for "Number of Processors" will always be 1 by default, regardless of the number you actually have. With the checkbox unchecked which is the default condition it will use all available cores. If the box is checked it will limit the cores to the number shown. In post #7 the box is checked which will limit the cores to 1. The box should be unchecked except for diagnostic and testing purposes, not normal use.

How many cores does the OP see in Task Manager - Performance ? Should look like this (ignore cpu 100% - I'm rendering ATM)

As LMiller7 has stated. Remove the check mark from Number of Processors.

It should look like the picture in whs post #6. NO check marks.

It should also give the option of 1 to 8 cores with the option ticked - which it appears not to do - which would indicate that there is an issue as also indicated by the program that initially brought this to the OP's attention

Has your settings changed in BOIS settings? But I think your board has UEFI. This happened to me once & for some reason the multi core cpu support was disabled so I only was using the 1. So simply enable it & leave the cores 1-8 left on auto & when you exit, will immediately switch off then back on again & your core's should be restored. That is, if this is the problem you have. But I've never come across missing cores unless its a failing cpu! But I have the exact same CPU & mine runs great!

I have a similar 4GHz 8350 and mine shows all eight cores as selectable options in the drop-down, which is why I assume all in the series should show the same :)

It will show "1" - regardless of what you do.
