Windows 7 crashes when transferring data from one drive to another

This problem has hounded me for a long time, well over a year.

When I am transferring data (usually large amounts) from one drive to another, the computer crashes and I either get a blue screen or it just reboots.

Originally I thought it was a faulty hard drive so I replaced that but the problem persisted. I have run smart drive diagnostics on all of my hard drives and no problems have been picked up.

I then replaced all of my RAM assuming it must be that. The problem continued.

I then replaced the video card. Same problem.

I then upgraded to windows 10 and the problem became more acute so I rolled back to windows 7.

The SSD has the latest firmware, graphics card the latest drivers.

I'm now thinking it's one of two problems:

Either my SSD drive which contains the operating system or the motherboard?

Has anyone got any ideas of how to specifically diagnose this problem or ways to resolve it? Would a clean installation help?

Hi & welcome to the Forum.

Are these internal hard drives that you are working with, or are you transferring via USB?.

Could you supply a screen shot of Disc Management please, with all the drives being shown. This Tutorial will show what's needed.

Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image

And this Tutorial shows you how to upload the screen shot.

NETIO.sys is the Network Input/Output system driver.
This usually means that the crash is caused by the network drivers and/or protection software.
My suggestion would be to update the network drivers, not through device manager but the motherboard manufacturer or Realtek, and temporary uninstall Avast
Avast - Uninstall Completely

If that doesn't help, please read the instructions for more additional data.
Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

EDIT: do you perhaps have any USB network devices?

Are you the Craig Taylor on superuser that asked this two days ago? Windows 7 crashes when transferring data from one drive to another It is eerily familiar.
And on magicandre1981 advice you uninstalled comodo and replaced it with avast; According to your system specs?

If you are, get rid of avast it has the same restrictive policies that comodo has, maybe worse. Use MSE for testing then when this is straightened out you can install one of those other two, you can use them for win7, but, you have to be very particular in the allow/white-list/exceptions settings (I'd try going back to comodo first).

Here's a useful list for why you're getting that 0x0000001e bug check.

If the OP is the same as from Windows 7 crashes when transferring data from one drive to another then we need a report of Windows Genuine and Activation Issue Posting Instruction
