    Floppy Drive Controller Cards (PCI-X)


    Lately I've been trying to run some old software that reside on some 5 1/4" floppies on my current PC, which isn't the newest anyway. My current PC doesn't have a 34-pin connector for 5 1/4" drives, so I'm on the lookout for a card that will take 34-pin interface. My motherboard has only 1 PCI-E x16 slot, which is occupied by the video card, which leaves 2 PCI-E x4 slots and 2 PCI-X slots, so the floppy controller needs to fit into one of those two slots.

    I don't know of a floppy control card that you can buy anymore that plugs into a PCIe or PCI slot, but I did find this with a Google search:

I wasn't sure how to title this. I ran into a problem installing the USB3 drivers when I swapped MB's with the same chipset (AMD 970). All the other devices were handled Ok, along with loading drivers for new devices, but the on board USB3 ports. Long story short, there were registry entries...
Does anyone know a PCI Floppy Controller card thats still on the market somewhere?
I've been noticing after re-installing Win 7 that I get random floppy drive seeks and the hard drive light flashes like crazy and then everything is fine again.I have Clamwin AV,Spyware Blaster and Spybot S&D installed,but that's it,no Windows Defender or Essentials AV.Any ideas what causes this?...
The controller also detects as a controller and works fine, but it also thinks it's a floppy drive. Which is very odd. Any reason this might happen?
