Do I Need To Keep Empty Partiton?

I just concluded some hard disk cleanup. I had W7 plus Zorin on two separate drives. I decided I wanted Zorin on the Mint drive, and the W7 drives with only W7. After deleting Zorin, I was left with a large partition of free space on both drives. Should I just delete these as well? Or is it useful to have them?

It depends on how you use your computer. If you want to partition your programs and data, then keep the partitions. If you want a full drive for W7, then get rid of the partition and extend the W7 partition.

Personally, I always have a full drive for Win 7 and keep my data and games (large programs) on another spinning drive. My Win 7 drive is an SSD, so this configuration may not work for you if you don't have one.

Thanks MH. I think that's what I'll do. I can always partition again if I need to.

There is no sense to have more then 1 partition on your Windows drive, but if you wanted to have a partition for repetitive data storage that is fine too.

But as stated all your data and even your games should be installed on the other drive, the games should still be installed from windows, but you just change the install letter to the other drive when you install a game.

This way if you ever have to reinstall windows, you`d still have to reinstall the game, but all your game data would be saved and you wouldn`t have to start the game all over again.

I am only 50% done Batman Arkham Knight, and I would hate to have to start that game all over again Rainbow 6 Siege has just taken over, and now with The Division out, things are just gonna heat up even more, I need more time LOL

Tom Clancy's The Division? on Xbox One, PS4 & PC | Ubisoft® (US)

And use that other drive to store disk images on, so you never have to reinstall windows again

And it also never hurts to have some unallocated space on a drive, I keep my Samsung 850 256 GB setup like this, even though I have a ton of free space.
