Windows 7: hdd turned raw. doesnt want to recover data

hdd turned raw. doesnt want to recover data

my hdd turned raw. windows asks to format it but it doesnt works. trying testdrive to fix it but it is stuck in 17% while i choose analyze option.

Hello niraaz!

This could mean that your drive has been damaged, starting from its file system, which the system cannot make sense of anymore so it marks it as RAW. Do you need to only recover the data or also use the disk? Make and model?

It sounds like it's too damaged to be fixed. You could try to access it, though, by booting to a Linux-based Live CD. This link from SevenForums may help you: Peppermint Live CD/DVD/USB - Create for Emergency Backup

See if you can access your drive then.

Black Screen,Taking forever to auto recover and it doesnt work
Everytime i boot up my computer it goes to the start up repair. If i let it do its thing it takes forever and gives me the error in the picture. If i press cancel it goes to a black screen and nothing happens. Nothing is plugged into it either.:confused: Thanks for the help!
