Help With Identifying a HDD Utility

Two years ago I generated this description of one of the HDD's in my desktop:

Disk on port 1
Port location: Internal
Status: Normal
Usage: Array disk
Size: 71 GB
Serial number: WD-WMANS2449423
Model: WDC WD740ADFS-00SLR5
Firmware: 21.07QR5
System disk: No
Password protected: No
Disk data cache: Enabled
Native command queuing: Yes
SATA transfer mode: Generation 2
Physical sector size: 512 Bytes
Logical sector size: 512 Bytes

Unfortunately I did not write up a note saying how it was done.

Does it look familiar to anyone?

I like it for all the consolidated information it contains.

thanks

I don't really know but it looks like a report that might be generated by Intel Rapid Storage Technolgy:

System Reports for Intel Rapid Storage Technology

Open the Intel Rapid Storage Technology user interface (Start > Programs > Intel > Intel Rapid Storage Technology).
Click the Help icon.

Thank you, Callender,

You are probably right. I used IRST when I ran RAID1 on my XP system. When I upgraded to Win7/Pro x64 I listened to the experts on this forum and they convinced me that RAID1 was not a substitute for a good back-up and experience taught me that it was hard to implement under Win7, so it did not get reinstalled under Win7

Is there an alternative way to put together a similar report under Win7 (and Win10 to which I am reluctantly migrating?)

The fields that I'd think would be useful are:

Disk on port 1
Size: 71 GB
Serial number: WD-WMANS2449423
Model: WDC WD740ADFS-00SLR5
Firmware: 21.07QR5
System disk: No
SATA transfer mode: Generation 2

Reporting on the 3 fields below would be most important:

Disk on port 1
Size: 71 GB
Serial number: WD-WMANS2449423

That's enough to give you a decent ID and port location.

Is there another Windows/free utility that would generate such a report?

thanks

Personally I use some other utilities.

Here's a small section of a huge text report generated by SIV.

Thank you both for your insights.

I'm overjoyed at the guidance I'm getting from 'sim rick' on tenforums as I go through the unwelcome task of migrating to Win10 to keep Redmond happy.

Should I Be Concerned and Extra Cautious - Windows 10 Forums

Well down on her list of preparation tasks is this item:
  • Remove any 3rd-party anti-virus software, hard drive monitoring software, and Speccy if you have it.
Might she also object to my leaving SIV installed if she knew I had it?

Much of my 'abundance of caution' is as a result of my difficult XP to Win7 migration (procrastination and a desire to 'understand' what I'm doing and why with only ~45 years of 'user experience' that started with Basic and time-share access in Vancouver, BC to a GE mainframe in Los Angeles via a Teletype machine.

The system won't let me 'add to Callender's reputation' just now, or I would.

Don't know much about installed programs issues when migrating to Windows 10. I'm guessing any hard drive monitor that runs in real time could be a problem. SIV only runs on demand but the thing to do would be to download it run it after you migrate to Windows 10. SIV is portable and runs without installation so you could use it on Windows 7 then just delete the folder before migrating.

Speccy runs on demand only.
I have a icon on my desktop and only use it when I desire.

A long time ago when I was trying out W-10 Speccy worked okay. Their has been several upgrades, so I really don't know if W-10 and Speccy still get along.
