HP 6830 all-in-one printer is "offline"

I have an HP 6830 all-in-one printer with a wireless connection. It constantly shows that it is offline. I cannot find any way to change that status. After trying everything I finally got it to print by stopping the print spooler and then restarting it. While that works it isn't a reliable solution since I need to do that every time I need to print anything. As an FYI, this just started about a week ago.

    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Yes, about a half dozen times - to no avail.

    Hi, @barney rubble:

    >>I know you said you have reinstalled the HP drivers/software several times.
    >>I assume you are getting the package directly from the HP drivers/downloads page, in order to get the current version. (You can d/l either the full bloatware package or just the basic drivers.)

    1) How many computers print to that particular HP AIO -- desktop? laptop?

    Reason for asking:
You can use EITHER wireless OR network/ethernet, but not both at the same time.
If you have another computer hooked up to it via ethernet (hard wire), it will conflict with wifi.
So I am just checking to be sure you are not trying to connect via ethernet (network) and via wifi at the same time.

    2) It would help to know a bit more about your setup -- e.g. do you have a wireless router or HSI combo modem/router? Other wireless devices in the vicinity? etc.

    Reason for asking:

I do not profess to know diddly about "networking", but I do have an HP 6700 8600 AIO. If you have a router, then you can probably set up the HP AIO to print "networked", and you can turn off the HP AIO's wifi altogether. (That's how I arranged things a few weeks ago, when I set up a 3rd computer for my HP AIO.)

    3) Do you have other wifi issues with this computer?

    Reason for asking:

Just trying to be sure it is the HP AIO that is causing the problem, rather than your computer's wifi hardware/drivers.

    4) It sounds like a new model. Is it under warranty?

    Reason for asking:

HP phone support is actually pretty decent. If it is under warranty, the agents are pretty good with walking one through driver install and set-up, with or without remote access.

    Cheers,
    MM
