Building a comp for my boss...
I've attached the parts that I am going to have him order from newegg. What do you guys and gals think?
Keep in mind that the most intensive thing he is going to do is editing large HD photographs.

Processor is obsolete, go for i5 750 and a p55 motherboard. I'd also choose an Antec True Power PSU - 650w is enough.
If you live by a Micro center he can get I7 920 for $199 Micro Center - Core i7 920 Processor Boxed
I5 is the equivalent and cheaper than x58 boards.
Rosewill is Newegg's house brand. Some of it might be OK, but I wouldn't use it for critical parts, such as a power supply. I would stick with Corsair or Seasonic for a power supply.
Crucial is a good memory brand. You can stick with it as long as you know it is compatible with your motherboard.
ECS boards--I dunno. I would lean toward Intel if it won't be overclocked or maybe MSI or Asus if it will be overclocked.
Samsung drive should be find unless you are trying to break speed records. Otherwise, no problem.
That looks like a very ordinary system. I seriously doubt you even need a 500 watt power supply.
Yorkfield processor with DDR 3 RAM?? Doesn't sound right to me. Don't Yorkfields use DDR 2? If so, you can save a lot there and use it to upgrade quality of the other stuff.

Damn. I wish I lived by a Micro Center...I would go get one for myself.
As for the processor, he didn't want to spend over $1K, so I had to go with something a little behind the times...and it's still better than the Q6600 I have in my machine. lol
I'm actually a bit concerned about the graphics card...it looks flimsy. I'm thinking I might swap that our for something from XFX or PNY.
Just to mix things up a bit:
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!
The first combo is for an I5 barebones system. All it includes is motherboard (Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2), CPU (Core I5 750), RAM (4GB DDR3 1600), hard disk (WD 1.5TB Green), case (Raidmax), and PSU (730W Raidmax). Its price with the bundle discount is $578. The equivalent items on your list add up to $613.
The WD Green drive is 5400 RPM, so it may have less performance than the 7200 RPM Samsung on your list (slightly greater rotational latency, mainly), but it will consume less power.
The Raidmax stuff may not be top-drawer, but it may be as good or better than the Rosewill parts. I think I'd prefer the Gigabyte board to an ECS product.
Thanks for the tips guys...if he hasn't already ordered the parts, I'll tell him I want to look around a bit more.
