HD Shrinking +/-

I have a 150 GB VelociRaptor with Windows 7 and programs installed on it. There is 125 GB of free space on the drive.

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to shrinking the drive and having the free space be a separate partition? I don't need the space since I have 5 HDs in this machine.

Only if you need the space for archives or dual boot...

Thank you for the reply. I don't need the space, I've got enough free HD space in this machine to store a small country.
