how strange that it should work on ''vista'' but not ''7'' , this rules out possible BIOS interference.....

there may be a selection of less popular hubs that the ''driver cab'' does not cater for..??, TBH i dont think there's much out there that wont run on W7.

so....... when the PC is running & you plug in the hub, what happens..???, is it detected by the OS..??

Yep thats the thing, if the hub is not connected at start up the boot runs sweet as a nut. Once up and running I can plug in the hub with all devices attached...even the mouse and keyboard...and all work fine.

Boot up with them attached though and deadly silence with Windows Starting screen only and haaaaaang.

how weird......???

im sure if the hub is plugged into the back of your tower this is a complete nightmare to keep messing with

well, i think the only sure fire solution is a different hub (as much as it pains me to tell you that)

I'm not in that predicament as yet as I have 4 rear ports and 2 front.

Got the hub, mouse, keyboard and external hard drive in the rear. Got printer and other devices through hub and all ok at the moment. Seems as long as the mouse and keyboard are not going through the hub all's well...fingers crossed!!!

Will update if anything changes, cheers.

As per title, I've been using ASUS motherboards for last 11 years and I must say they are worth every penny. First one was P4P800-Deluxe which lasted from 2001 to 2007 and second one is P5E3 which I'm using since 2007 till now. I guess its time to jump on bandwagon and upgrade my system. I'm...
