    All my USB's stopped working!

    Hey All

The other day everything was running perfect, i took a phone call and when I came back my mouse wasnt working. Ok, so i rebooted. Still nothing, so I switched to another USB port, still nothing, then i tried my USB memory stick even that wouldn't recognize. So i tried all of my USB ports and still nothing.

    Since then i have tried

    - restoring to a few days ago
    - took the whole rig apart
    - tried a new PSU
    - reset my CMOS
    - took my battery out of my MB for 12 hours

Seriously everything. In my device Manager I have a Unknown Device that will nt update or even tell me what the hell it is, but I have NOTHING plugged into a USB port on my comp. I'm so lost anyone have any more ideas??

thats a bi**H. I can help you with the unknown device. if you go into device manager and right click the unknown go to properties>details>use the pull down to show hardware id's take the id string and drop it into google. It will tell you what the device is. hardware ID's are unique

Let us know if that doesnt help

Even weirder. I plugged in my iPod (the last thing that was plugged in when everything stopped working) and the USB reads it! It wont read anything BUT the iPod, i'm so lost here!
