    cd/dvd drive

    Why is it that windows 7 all of a sudden will not recognize the cd/dvd drive and ejects your cd then informs you to insert one.
    The only solution I have found is to uninstall the cd/dvd driver from my computer and restart it to get it to work.
    Doses anyone have a solution to fix this?

    Check the firmware on your optical drive.

    It should be on the manufacturer's Support Downloads page for your model computer and/or OD.

    So does it work now?? (I am confused because you say that you have a solution)

    If not check Device Manger..(Just search it in the start menu) and look to see if any yellow exclamation marks are present..

    If there are check the Manufacture website.. and also try Windows Update it might find it for you..

    Hope this Helps..and Happy Holidays..:)

    Sometimes you need to delete the upper and lower filters......

    Navigate to;
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}In the right hand pane, delete the UpperFilters & LowerFilters,

    Reboot.
