    Autoplay errors?

    Hi all,

I've had Windows 7 Home Premium for a while, and I just noticed something weird - most things (USB sticks, SD cards, etc.) don't seem to bring up the AutoPlay window. AutoPlay is enabled through the control panel.. is there anything else I need to do? It's weird, having to go to My Computer every time I plug a pendrive in...

    Thanks!

Hey Qwerty welcome to Seven Forums!

What type of usb stick are you pluging in? Also is your firewall disabled? Try disabling it and restarting, then plug in your stick and see what happens.

What type of antivirus program are you using?

    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Hi,

It's various different pendrives actually, and I'm also trying to use my card reader - but nothing!

Windows Firewall is disabled; I'm using AVG Free.

Uninstall AVG and try it again. Then once you are able to do it, you can reinstall AVG. Let me know. Sorry it took so long to respond.

    Thanks,

Was this an upgrade or a "clean" install?

AVG has been know to cause problems.

One can try disabling it completely temporally and see if it solved the problem.

AVG wouldn't let me do a couple of things on my machine until I uninstalled it. Just a thought. Also have you tried to "reset all devices" and then restart and try it?

    Thanks,

    I did locate this.

But it's a program you have to download.

    I trust the site however.

Let me download it first and see what changes it makes in the registry so i can setup a script for you to run on time.

    Give me a few minutes

Sorry, but it's in tyhe program itself, no registry chnages were made to enable.

    Here's the download loink:
