    i can't see my external hard drive

    so,when i installed windows 7 everything was great,now i can't see my external hard drive.if i unplug it and try another usb port my wireless mouse and keyboard stop working.then i have to restart and then they work ,but not the hard drive.i can't see it anywhere not in device manager or bios.
    i'm pretty sure i've tried everything i know but i'm no expert.

    Hi there

    This sometimes happens due to it not being assigned a drive letter or the letter is already assigned -- especially when plugging / unplugging USB drives.

    Easy to solve.

    1) Control panel ===> Adminitrative tools ===>Computer management===>Storage==Disk management.

    2) Scroll down -- You'll see a disk without a letter.

    3) Right click on it ===>Change drive letter and paths

    4) Assign it a letter

    5) Exit

    6) now you should see it again in Windows explorer etc etc.

    Cheers
