Need help finding driver for Sony VGN-FZ140E

    Hey there peoples!
Was wondering if anyone's got any info on the "mass storage device" that appears on my device manager list. I've looked everywhere I know of to look to get this one last driver....the symptoms of not having this particular driver are strange, the HD led light won't stop flashing...just keeps going until I force a shutdown. I've found pretty much all the drivers for windows 7 its just this one is stumping me. There's even a site from sony ftp://ftp.vaio-link.com/pub/OS/
this site is pretty cool, its just seems that sony doesn't want anyone to know about it.lmao. it doesn't have much anyhow. please help

Your drive light is on because Windows is indexing your drive for improved search times... this is normal and will stop in a day or two....

wonder if there's a work around for this....>?

Windows 7 includes an AHCI SATA driver, and I suggest staying with that, if you need one. (IS your SATA controller set to AHCI by default? The alternative would be IDE mode. You may not be given a choice on a laptop.)

Have you tried the Intel chipset drivers?

Here are the latest I know of:

bobkn - W7 automatically installs the intel AHCI driver during installation if its enabled in the bios as you said - its the intel matrix storage manager that needs to be installed for full functionality - since W7 installs the driver it wouldnt be showing in device manager as an unknown device, but I maybe misintrepreting this so moebiius his the link to the matrix driver in detail, as I have it copied to a notepad for easy reply's - it will do no harm to download, and install it, as it wont install unless you have AHCI enabled.

You will find it at the intel site - http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx
Select chipsets - chipset software - intel(R) matrix storage manager - Select Operating System - select Windows 7 (64bit OR 32 bit) - select drivers - select intel(R) matrix storage manager 8.9.0.1023 - download and install.
(make sure you don't download the floppy configuration utility by mistake) - it will show up if you select utilities.

    Hey~
I have a question for moebiius,
you said that you have found all the drivers for sony vaio VGN-FZ140E?
I just did a Clean Install for windows 7 on my VGN-FZ140E and i was wondering
if you could direct me to the drivers download~
I tired to download it from the song site but they only have it for vista~
.......and i have the same problem with the "mass storage device" but not computer savvy enough to do something about it
