    Monitor Suggestions

I usually get great feedback from this forum. But most other forums I post this on only get one reply, and nothing else.

I am currently looking for a good gaming monitor, I have about $250 I'm willing to spend. I have done some research but did not come to any conclusions. I found this link a link with A LOT of information on LCD monitors (Link at bottom of page, I take NO CREDIT for that post.) but I the suggestions on that list are not available anymore or are way out of my price range.

Im looking for a 22-24 inch screen, I've been reading some reviews on some samsung models (ToC I think) but I can't find them on Newegg or Tigerdirect.

Thanks for all your help in advance!

Check out the 22" Dell monitor in my system specs, fabulous colour gamut and zero ghosting, LG IPS panel (not TN or PV), within your budget, the only drawback which some people would be unhappy about would be due to the fact they only offer DVi connections (no DisplayPort or HDMI, S-Video, Component etc)

Resolution's 1680 x 1050 and performance and backlighting are undistinguishable from models which cost much much more :)

I don't have any real recommendations. I like my Samsung 245BW, even though it's a TN LCD. (TN has color shifts with viewing angle.)

The Samsung ToC stands for "touch of color", which adds amber highlights to a black case. It's not some whizbang technological feature.

In the past couple of years, monitors with 1920X1080 resolution have become available. (Presumably, they are related to small HD TV monitors.) They are significantly cheaper than 1920X1200 displays, even though they have 90% of the pixels. (And 17.6% more pixels than a 1680X1050 monitor.) I don't know what you lose with them, but if you're limited to $250, 1920X1080 will buy you the maximum number of pixels.

I recently came in contact with a friend that works at a local computer store. He can get me about $100 off of the Samsung 2233RZ 120hz monitor. I think I might take up his offer, I've read quite a few reviews so far on this and it seems to be almost exactly like a CRT monitor but minus the weighing 80lbs+ part.

Sadly they will not come with the glasses for 3D but once that gets more affordable, that would be an option for me with out getting a new monitor.
