    Windows 7 lcd/touchscreen?

this is my first question, i hope it's in the right place in the forum!!

On you tube there is a video showing photographs being manipulated/resized/moved by touching an LCD screen.

Is this a specialist LCD screen? How does this element of Windows 7 work on normal LCD monitors?

Does Windows 7 require an hardware upgrade?

    Thanks

Yes those are touchscreens. I'm sure there are ways to get a normal LCD upgraded but in this case it most likely that we'll see it come standard in tablets, some notebooks and monitors. Personally I think its a tad gimmicky but definitely cool nonetheless.

Touch screens are always fun, but it needs the right hardware. You do need a touch screen in order to use that feature, but it is built into the OS. If you have one, it should be easy to use.

My laptop is a tablet notebook and the Vista and 7 touchscreen features work perfectly on it!

I'm curious to know if you find yourself using them a lot or does the novelty wear off? I'm seriously considering a tablet convertible as my next laptop purchase.

It's a HP Touchsmart computer in that video. It looks like an IMac, but with touchscreen. And running Windows 7 of course.

I used it a lot when I was in my school multimedia course. We did a lot of artistic stuff on computers in Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, etc... Other than the art/drawing stuff though (Crayon Physics Deluxe anyone?) it doesn't get much use.
