USB ports stop working w/ too many devices

    Another plus to a powered hub is, if you plug your MP3 player, phone, or other device that recharges though it's USB cord into it, it will recharge even if the PC is turned off.

    SS of the usb port that is used. And the blue screen that occurs when it crashes the next time the pc is turned on.

    You guys didn't read my first post ><. A non powered hub works fine as well without shutting down while idle.

    But that doesn't explain why on a brand new mobo with 8 usb ports, and only a mouse and kb plugged in, I cant directly plug in a self powered industrial laser that, should only be using the port for data, without the hub?

    I'll try the hub method again, then use one of our powered hubs as well. I assume both will fix the issue. But in a round about way. I think there is some other problem that I cant figure out.
