    Keyboard

I have a Microsoft Wireless Natural Multimedia keyboard that came with a mouse. I bought a new computer with Windows 7 and hooked everything up turned on the computer and the keyboard did not work. The mouse worked. The cord that goes from the base thing has a PS/2 and UBS. I tried each varition I can think of but nothing has worked. I have installed the latest Win 7 drivers but nothing works. Should I unistall everything contected with the keyboard and mouse and start from the beginning? Should I connect both the ps/2 and the usb? Any ideas would help. Thanks, Tim

If all your drivers are up-to-date, you may consider contacting the company you bought the computer from. Perhaps they will give you a new keyboard. Then, in the event the old one actually works, you will have 2.

I did change the batteries but not right away. The keyboard and mouse did not come with the computer.
So, both plugs should be plugged in to the computer?
The keyboard instructions say run software first then turn off the computer and plug in the mouse and keyboard. I did it the way the computer set up said to do it by plugging everything in then booting up.
If I remove the software will it remove the driver also. If not how do I remove the driver? I am thinking I need to start over but when I run the software it says the latest driver is installed and will not run the software.

I didn't notice if you mentioned the manufacturer, but if you have to load any software to make it work out of the box , I'd through it in the trash and hook up a basic mouse and keyboard.

To remove the driver, do into Device Manager and right-click on your device. To remove the program, go to Programs and Features.

It is a Microsoft product and the mouse runs just fine without running the software. I don't know why the keyboard doesn't work. My thinking is to start all over again by removing the drivers reinstalling the software then attaching the hardware. I really don't know if it work but I am at wits end. The keyboard that came with the computer, a usb, works just fine but I spent a little for this Microsoft keyboard and don't want to give up on it yet. Should I remove the driver for the usb keyboard also?

Goter done I installled according to quick start guide. What I was forgetting is that there was a reset button on the base station. Once I got the drivers and everything install I pressed the reset and wa la it work. Isn't it always something simple?
Thanks for your help guys, Tim
