System drive reading more full than it should be

    Hello all,
I recently noticed that my 1TB system drive only had 331gb free space on it, but I can not locate what is using up so much space. If I check the properties of all the folders on the drive it only adds up to around 200gigs.

Any idea where the extra 400 gigs could be coming from?

I have tried disabling system restore, I have run disk cleanup. I'm stumped. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You can use a disk mapping program to see where all your space is going. Here's one I like: WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics

Awesome, totally worked. Turned out it was a video file stored in a temp directory for a DVD to MPEG program I was running.

    Thanks!

Something else to try would be to remove extra/obsolete restore points stored on that drive.
