Win7 - Leonovo X200 - Keyboard suddenly stopp
heya,
I have Windows 7 installed on my Lenovo X200 tablet pc.
Recently, when I restarted, I noticed that the keyboard didn't work. I did a quick google, and apparently some other people had noticed something similar, where the keyboard suddently stopped working. The consesnsus seemed to be to remove the keyboard device in Device Manager, and let Windows pick it up again.
Anyhow, I first tried plugging in a USB keyboard. This seemed to trigger the driver install, however, the USB keyboard also didn't work. In Device Manager, the message given was:
I also then tried removing the "Thinkpad Keyboard and Mouse" device, and rebooting. On reboot, the laptop keyboard nor mouse worked, and in Device Manager, the newly installed devie for that, said it was unable to start.Code:Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
I suppose I can reinstall Windows, but any other options (no sys restore points).
(Also, it's probably not hardware, because the keyboard works fine in the BIOS, as well as my Linux intall.
Cheers,
Victor
