    CMOS Error

My secondary rig keeps showing a CMOS error on boot, but only if it has been shutdown. On a restart or at desktop, there is no problem, and SpeedFan shows the Vbat at 3.10v, which is normally sufficient to indicate that the battery is okay.

If I understand, the PS provides current to maintain the battery when powered on, so that tends to indicate that the battery is bad, regardless of what SpeedFan says, but I'm wondering if there is something that I'm overlooking?

Perhaps it is a BIOS issue. Try updating your BIOS to the latest version.

This problem didn't exist prior to shuffling components around between my rigs, but I had gotten a vague feeling that this could be a BIOS issue. I guess we will find out in a few days, because I just ordered a new chip. When I did this on my primary rig, it cured alot of problems, I hope that it will again.
