W7 x64 + iTunes + iPod Touch Is it just me, or is iTunes really buggy in Windows 7 x64?
When I first got my iPod, I couldn't sync it in iTunes. Every time I tried to, the program just freezes and I couldn't click anything until I unplug my ipod from my computer.
I got it to work by updating the filmware using my old Windows XP, and now itunes on Windows 7 can at least communicate with my iPod touch.
But still, there are some problems with syncing.
I'm only sometimes able to put music and videos on my iPod, and even then, I can't edit the tracks or anything.
And now after I jailbroke it, it freezes every time I try to sync it with my computer.
It still works on my windows XP computer though.
But it's very tedious to keep transferring all my stuff to my old windows XP and having to put it on my iPod using my old computer.
And converting music and videos would be a pain. (Old Celeron D vs Quad core i5)
So, if iTunes doesn't work on Windows 7, I might have to dual-boot this computer with XP to get it to work, but I don't have an actual copy of XP, so I don't want to do that.
Do anybody else have this problem? | My System Specs |

Yep Itunes ver 9.x+ crashes, and is just plain buggy. 32bit is ok, so far

Alrighty guys...here's the deal.
I just got over with a 3 hour long conversation with someone from apple support.
The problem is caused by either the operating system I'm using (Windows 7 x64), my processor (Intel Core i5), or my chipset in my motherboard (P55) - or all three of those.
So, if any of you have a problem with getting iTunes to work, and you have one of those things that I listed above, it might just be your computer that's the issue.
For now, I'm just going to set up a home network with my XP computer and sync my ipod using XP. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sager NP5165 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel i7-2630qm Memory 4GB DDR3 Graphics Card Nvidia GT 555m 2GB Monitor(s) Displays 1920x1080 Hard Drives Seagate Momentus XT 500GB Solid State Hybrid Drive 7200RPM Other Info Price: $1,017usd |

Im having an issue too with even the latest itunes 10 and it still wont let me sync.
itunes freezes and my computer is running at less than 10% with most i7 cores doing nothing.
It may be the P55 chip set from gigabyte because aside from 64bit OS that's all we have in common. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self Built OS Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit CPU I7 860 Motherboard Gigabyte P55-UD5 Memory 8GB DDR3 Graphics Card Nvidia Quadro FX1800 Monitor(s) Displays ASUS 24" Screen Resolution 1080p PSU Antec 750W Hard Drives 1TB x3 |

just to report back, i have installed itunes 64, imported my library, backed up my iphone, synced my new playlists to my phone, transferred my purchases (apps) to my computer, updated my phone to the new software, and synced my phone back up with my new computer...
although it took quite a while, it all worked without a hiccup... what else was yours doing that may be the problem? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number My First Build OS Windows 7 64-bit Home CPU Intel Core i7-870 Lynnfield 2.93 Ghz Motherboard Asus P7P55D-E Pro Memory 8GB 4x2 A-Data 1333 Mhz Graphics Card HIS Radeon HD 5850 1GB Sound Card Onboard Monitor(s) Displays Dell S2440L 24" Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Logitech LX 710 Mouse Logitech LX 710 PSU Corsair 650TX 650 Watt Case Antec Three Hundred Cooling Stock Intel /// 4 Antec Case Fans /// NZXT Sentry-2 Hard Drives 120 GB Intel X25-M SATA Solid State Drive ///
