Western Digital and NEC promoting USB 3.0 together
HDD/SSD maker Western Digital and semiconductor company NEC have teamed up in order to promote the USB 3.0 aka SuperSpeed USB standard. As part of their endeavor, the two companies are together developing a USB Attached SCSI Protocol (UASP) driver that will deliver hard drives with very high performance and mass-storage capacity.
