Slow DVD burning with Live File System

    Hi everyone!

I have the following problem. Burning files from explorer to DVD is extremely slow, when the DVD is formatted using the Live File System option. The burn process starts, and proceeds in a steady 500-600Kb/s speed. It took 16 minutes to burn a 700Mb file to DVD. This occurs with two different brands of media (maxell DVD+R 16x and fujifilm DVD-R 16x), and two different drives (Lite-ON 20x and Samsung 22x, the Samsung is brand new). If I use the Mastered method, the time to burn a full DVD takes 4-5 minutes, which is the expected amount of time for a 16x burn.

I have searched the internet, but the only suggestion to this kind of problem is to turn on DMA for the drive, but in my case, it is already set to DMA enabled and besides, it can burn at full speed in Mastered mode.

The OS is Windows 7 Ultimate x64, clean install.

Drag&drop files to DVD is such a convenient feature, is there anything I can do to make it work properly?

    Thanks in advance!

Do you have daemon tools installed? the SPTD driver that comes with that is reputed to hurt real drive performance can't say I've noticed it in practice on my setup though.

    Thanks for your reply!

I don't have anything installed, it's just the OS. By the way, I have tried installing just the chipset drivers, but doesn't make any difference.
