    Can i upgrade my hd?


    juz want to ask,can i upgrade my hd coz it only 160GB n must format first or not?and i want 2 create partition e but my unallocated only have 9MB.this my disk:

    c: 80GB
    d:80Gb make the d:50 and new partition "e":30GB

    the problem is i cannot create more than 9MB for the unallocated.for some1 who expert,plez see my info and tell me it that's ok for me?i already upgrade my ram to 2GB Kingston but is not the same model to my default ram.so is it work for my laptop?sorry 4 ask too many question.

    You cannot create a new partition without first shrinking the D drive. If you cannot shrink the D drive more then 9MB, run Disk Defragmenter. if that does not help, you have unmovable system files that cannot be shifted around the drive enough to create another partition.

    Secondly, your RAM has nothing to do with your Hard Drive. RAM is used with the processor to store your processes and information as it is being used, like a desk. The hard drive is used like a file cabinet of sorts.

    tanx 4 the reply jelly man...ok so i have to shrinking my d first.to do it,must i format d or no?about the ram,actually i mean now i have new kingston 2gb ram but not same model in my default ram,can it make my perfomance increased?my fren said must use same 667 ram to make it works...i'm really confusing now...


    Default ram:PC2-5300
    New ram:PC2-6400

    is this ok?

    Your new ram( if it will even work with your old) as it is NEVER a good idea to mix ram will automaticaly default to the lower speed. I do however think you'll be lucky to even get your system to boot with the new ram installed. You'll soon find out. Best of luck. Fabe

    i x know,or maybe i'm not good in this.but,till now it's ok.do u mean i must use same model to get improvement?
