    USB issues.

Alright, MP3 players and External HDD's refuse to function with my Windows 7 rig that I just built.

They just refuse to detect or function! I also have a Cardbus adapter that plugs into one of the motherboards USB 2.0 ports on the motherboard itself which will detect for a short while upon boot, but then seems to loose connection, the actual USB ports on the Cardbus adapter still work fine (As I run a mouse from that particular port).

I have updated to the latest BIOS revision which is 1.3 from Asrock, the latest ATI all-in-one driver, tried different USB settings in the Bios (Like Setting it to USB 1.1 mode, disabling/enabling USB compatability mode etc')

I know that high-drain devices won't function properly in the front USB ports like External HDD's etc' which I understand completely, my 160gb Western Digital USB bus powered drive won't work in the front but it works fine plugged into the back.

However my other HP Pocket Media Drive won't work in any USB drive, but works fine on my Pentium 4, Core 2 Duo, Atom Windows XP Notebooks, I also get an error code (43) with the HP drive.

Just looking for a pointer so I can get this resolved, I have already lost significant hair from this problem! Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

I'd check AMD's website for your latest chipset drivers as that's a very likely cause, ASRock don't tend to update their downloads area very often - so you can't count on them 100%, especially when there's a new OS involved... :)

    Unfortunately that didn't solve anything.

And Windows Disk Management doesn't pick up the HP drive either.

Got any other ideas? If not I'll probably do a down-grade to a trusty Windows XP install, that just means I'll loose everything with no way to back it up, and I'll have the hassle of reinstalling every single thing again. (Can't upload or download, Satellite Broadband connection with a 2gb download limit.)
