Solved - My DVD-ROM won't read/write

I have a brand new LG GH22NS40 DVD-ROM, but it won't read or write anything. I tried to burn with 3 different softwares (Nero, ImgBurn, Ashampoo) and still nothing. I have the latest firmaware ( the second for this dvd-rom ) and there's no difference. I use Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bits.

How i made it ?

I just reinstalled the driver and it worked just fine.

Can you go to device manager (Computer>System Properties>device Manager (top left)

Then go to your dvd drive>right Click>properties
Does it say it is working ok?

It more than likely is a hardware fault.

I would tend to think that Minotar's last statement applies. Since it is new, I would contact the seller about a replacement.

Have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it via Device Manager?
What version firmware did you update with?Ver.NL02?
LG Product Support for GH22NS40

You could try manually plugging it out and back in either?

I have ver NL02. I haven't tried a different cable.

Edit: I reinstalled. Wait me to see if I can burn something.

SPECS

I see by your specs you have only a gig of memoery?
OS Windows 7 Ultimate
CPU Amd Athlon 3200+
Motherboard Extreme KV2 Lite
Memory 1GB DDR
Graphics Card Ati Radeon 9600
Sound Card Realtek

It seems to me you may have a memory issue.
Is the Optical drive installed internally or is it connected via USB?
