Intel SSD 80GB G2 Hi all,
Just updated to newest firmware without any issues . TRIM is on. The only question I have is how can I check if TRIM is really working. I run it with Windows 7 ultimate 64bit. Well I could run the Toolbox but I heard that Windows 7 can do it as well.
Any ideas?
Thanks | My System Specs |

Whether TRIM is working and whether TRIM is helping are two separate issues.
But to determine whether Windows has been set to utilize TRIM, type the following from an elevated command prompt:
fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify
If it returns that DisableDeleteNotify = 0, then TRIM is enabled (conversely, if DisableDeleteNotify = 1, then TRIM is disabled).

That was a very useful tip.
What tweaks should i use with a postville e.g. page file , superfetch, indexing ? | My System Specs | | |

Another way to test it is just create a very large file on the drive (like 20GB file), then delete it. Now watch your HDD activity LED on the front of your PC. Keep watching it, and in around 15 seconds, you'll see TRIM at work, with the HDD activity light fully lit, for a few seconds as it cleans the drive.
Hope this helps. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Keeps changing - (Custom) OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU Intel Core i7 860 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P55-UD4P Memory 4GB DDR3 Mushkin 1600Mhz @ 7-8-7-20 Graphics Card MSI GTS250 1GB DDR3 Twin Frozr Sound Card Onboard realtek Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 24" P2450 + Samsung 20" 2033 Screen Resolution 1920 X 1080 and 1600 X 900 (#2 system 1440 X 900) Keyboard Gigabyte USB keyboard Mouse Microsoft wireless laser mouse 5000 PSU Corsair 750 HX Modular Case Lancool PC-K62 Cooling Cooler Master TX3 CPU cooler and 4-140mm and 1-120mm case Hard Drives Patriot Inferno 120GB SSD + 3 WD Blue 640GB drives Internet Speed 7 Mb down 1.5 up Other Info System #2: AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (Freezer 7 Pro cooler) - Gigabyte 880GMA-UD2H - WD 500GB Black - 9500GT (1GB) 500W OCZ modular PSU - Antec 200 case. Microsoft and Intel recommend leaving pagefile on the SSD, but others argue differently. PreFetch and SuperFetch have about an equal amount of supporters on each side. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Built by OpSysWiz OS Win 7 Ultimate x64 CPU i5-750 Motherboard ASUS P7P55D-E Memory 2 x 2GB Corsair DDR3 1600 Graphics Card eVGA 260 Core 216 Sound Card X-FI Fatal1ty Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 21" S-PVA Screen Resolution 1600x1200 Keyboard Saitek Gamer Mouse MS Wheel Mouse Optical PSU Antec Signature 850W Case Lian-Li PC-80B Cooling CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus, OCZ Freeze Hard Drives OCZ Vertex Turbo 60GB SSD, WD VelociRaptor Internet Speed 3Mb/sec |

I pretty much agree with all of this. I put my pagefile on my mechanical storage drive...mostly to save disk space on my SSD...rather than saving writes. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD
