    Flash drive error?

Sometimes I get this message pop up. I check "Automatically fix file system errors" and "Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors". It tells me I have to force dismount it which I do. It then schedules a disk check at next boot but it never runs. This isn't the first time this has happened. This flash drive has gotten a few trojans on it before like "Trojan GameThief.Win32.Magania.cptt" according to Kaspersky. Every few months the trojan reappears on the flash drive. It's my school flash drive which makes me suspect my school laptop to be the culprit.

I use AVG on my school laptop.

    Hello,

I would not trust AVG if I were you, seeing its problems. Try Microsoft Security Essentials instead, it is also free.

Immediately do a Full scan of your entire laptop with MSE, and if you feel up to it, run a scan with Malwarebytes (the free version).

However, that message usually means you unplugged your thumb drive without using the Safely Remove Hardware option.

    Hope this helps,
    ~Jonathan

Two thing you should always do with flash drives: Disable autoplay and disable write caching

I will do just that when break is over. How did I forget that MSE existed? Shame on me..
